Modern rock icons Evanescence are once again taking center stage… this time on the cover of the latest issue of Metal Hammer magazine ahead of the release of their highly anticipated new album Sanctuary.
The newly revealed issue features an exclusive cover story centered around Amy Lee and the making of Sanctuary, which is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026. Alongside the magazine interview, fans will also receive two exclusive Evanescence-themed gifts: a logo keyring and a foil sticker inspired by the album’s red-and-black color aesthetic.
According to Metal Hammer, Amy Lee explained that the title Sanctuary represents a safe place during increasingly chaotic times in the world.
“A chaotic and violent time where more and more it feels like things are spiralling out of control.”
The interview also reflects on Evanescence’s evolution since the release of their breakthrough 2003 debut album Fallen. Amy discussed how her songwriting perspective has changed over the years, describing the earlier material as more inward and personal, while newer music looks outward at the world around her.
“When I was in my 20s and we were doing Fallen, the music was very introverted because I was looking in,” Amy said in the feature. “As you go through life and you have experience, you have to look out.”
The issue arrives during a major resurgence for the band. Evanescence recently released the single Who Will You Follow, the first taste of the upcoming Sanctuary era, which has already generated significant attention across streaming platforms and rock media coverage.
Metal Hammer’s latest issue continues a growing wave of magazine spotlight features surrounding the band in 2026, as anticipation builds toward the release of Sanctuary and Evanescence’s upcoming world tour dates.
Fans interested in collecting the issue should note that the bundled gifts are exclusive to this edition while supplies last.
